Ozone Reflex V1 Kite
Ozone Reflex V1 — Let Your Instincts Fly
The all-new performance free-ride kite for everyone. The Reflex takes the shaping DNA of Ozone's Vortex big air machine and puts it into an accessible, hard-wearing package that suits riders from beginner right through to advanced. Escape to the water with effortless freedom, or fully commit and discover your inner extreme athlete.
Built around a three-strut Teijin Triple Ripstop Dacron airframe and a highly tuned 16-point bridle system, the Reflex feels instinctively responsive and smooth. Compared to the Aluula-framed Vortex V2, the Dacron build gives a softer, more playful ride, turns tighter through loops with less power, and shrugs off beach scuffs better — making it the smarter choice for everyday riding.
Why We Rate It
- Vortex-inspired shape with a highly tuned 16-point bridle system
- Fast, instinctive flying feel with light to medium bar pressure
- Easy jumping and rewarding float — big air progression feels natural, not scary
- Tight turning radius makes kite loops easy to learn and throw without fear. No surprises
- Durable Teijin Triple Ripstop Dacron airframe — more abrasion-resistant than Aluula when scuffed on the beach
- Cross-discipline versatility — designed for twin-tip performance, but the tighter turns and softer feel make it a genuinely good wave and foil kite too
- 4-line pulley-less bridle, anti-snag line deflectors, anti-flap battens and back-line trimming options
Who Is the Reflex For?
Anyone who wants the thrill of kitesurfing with as little complication and as much progression as possible. If you're working on your first jumps, chasing bigger air, or want one kite that handles twin-tip, wave and foil sessions, the Reflex delivers high performance without demanding an expert-level riding style. It's built tough enough for heavy use — schools, travel and everyday Moreton Bay sessions included.
Reflex vs Vortex V2 — Which One?
Choose the Reflex if you want accessible performance: more low-end power, a softer more forgiving feel, tighter loops with less power, and a tougher Dacron airframe at a friendlier price. Choose the Vortex V2 Ultra-X if you're an intermediate-to-pro rider chasing maximum big air performance — the stiffer Aluula frame gives more response and top-end drive, but demands a faster, more committed riding style.
