North's big-air weapon is back, and the 2027 Orbit is sharper than ever. This is the kite you reach for when you want to send it — huge, floaty boosts, drifty down-loops and the kind of hangtime that makes the whole beach stop and watch.

The Orbit has always been North's go-to for boosting and freeride, and for 2027 the profile has been refined for smoother, more predictable flying without losing any of its explosive lift. An updated bridle geometry gives it a more playful, surgey feel through the loop, while a slimmer leading edge sharpens the turning and drives more vertical lift — so you go up, not just across.

What's new for 2027

  • Updated bridle geometry for a more playful, responsive feel through kite loops and transitions.
  • Forward-cambered profile, refined for smoother, more controllable power delivery.
  • Slimmer leading edge for faster turning and stronger vertical lift on the boost.
  • Response 5-point bridle for direct, connected steering and consistent bar feel.
  • PTP2 transition panels, contoured to reduce seam tension and extend canopy life.
  • High-aspect design tuned for maximum loft and hangtime.

Who it's for

If your idea of a good session is seeing how high you can go, the Orbit is built for you. It suits intermediate to advanced riders chasing big air, kite loops and confident freeride across a wide range of conditions. It's stable enough to build your boosting on, and high-performance enough to keep rewarding you as you progress.

Choosing your size

The Orbit runs from 6m to 14m. As a rough guide, most riders keep two or three sizes to cover their local wind: a smaller kite (6–8m) for strong days and big-air sessions, a mid size (9–11m) as the everyday all-rounder, and a larger kite (12–14m) for lighter wind and maximum float.
